A New Angle

I found this photograph made by Arnel Henry on tinyvices.com. The angle, or perspective, of the photograph really intrigued me. It feels like an outsider doing some real creeping on an ordinary guy riding a bicycle. And it seems like a documentation, not a staged photo. I like the contrast of black and white in the entirety of the photograph, even though the photograph is in color. Anyway, I decided I need to further my creeping skills, whether I am hidden from general sight or right up in front of people, especially after the Market experience.

So I made this photograph from my window at home. My parents are getting ready to sell the house, and I've been back and forth between school and home to help them clean it. This guy has been working at our house nearly everyday, helping us out. He does random odd-jobs and occasionally enjoys a beer now and then. He is so at home in a stranger's house. And that's really what I wanted to capture, and I thought the "above angle" would help capture that more because he wouldn't notice the photograph happening.
