Power Outage

The image on the top was taken by Lee Gochenour at gochenour.biz.  I compared that image to my image (bottom) which shows Ursinus College's campus during the power outage that occured on Friday. 

Both images are similar in that the moon looks almost like the sun in brightness, yet it is clear that it is still night outside.

A long exposure time helps to light up the landscape so that even though it is dark, details are still visible.

Although some of the buildings are powered by the generator and have light inside, it is evident that the outdoor lights are not functioning.
