The Art of Shaving

I had taken this photo of my husband while shaving (lower photograph.) He hates his photo taken period, but since I had gotten him that new straight razor, he let me take one of him :) I always enjoy looking at photos that include a mirror because you can see different aspects of a person without looking at them straight on. The photo to the left I found on http://media.photobucket.com/image/shaving/lynnyn27/Kris-shaving.jpg?o=116 is titled, "Kris Shaving" Although the subject matter is relatively the same, we as the photographers had accentuated different aspects in our photos. While I focused on  not just the image portrayed in the mirror, I also focused my lens on his hand, the razor, and the side of his face. While the other photographer made their focal point the image in the mirror the priority and the man's face from the side is not in focus. Although my photo is color and the other is in black and white we both use shading to our advantage as well. The framing is similar where we are very specific as to what we are trying to capture in the frame and exclude outside details.
