The photo on the left is one that I took of a cactus at Ott's nursery. I was inspired by the photo on the right, found at www.mzephotos.com. I think that the patterns found in nature are beautiful, and tried to capture the pattern of the cactus in the photo that I took. I also enjoy photographs of objects that are easy to identify when seen in their entirety, but more difficult to identify when only parts of the whole are shown. Both of these photographs highlight the intricacy of the cactus structure, as well as the conflicting ways to describe the structures (beautiful or dangerous?).
