The bottom two images, taken by Peter Marlow of MagnumPhotos.com, were the inspiration for my images (top two images). Although there were no waterfalls where I went hiking this past weekend (French Creek), I was able to take pictures of water flowing over and through the rocks in a waterfall-like manner. The second to last image most closely corresponds with my images. In my images, they are mostly devoid of color, except for the dark green moss growing on the rocks. It appears as if both of Peter Marlow's images were taken during spring or summer, where there is more foliage and brighter, more vibrant colors. The white/wispy effect of the water in the third image can be obtained through a longer exposure time, which blurs the water. All images cause the viewer uncertainty, as the viewer is unsure what lies before or after the "waterfall." In addition, in my second images, the rocks are framing the water flowing between them.
